The term Worker is defined under section 2(l) of the\nfactories act, 1948. A worker means a person employed directly or by or through\nby agency (including a contractor) with or without the knowledge of the\nprincipal employer, whether for remuneration or not, in any manufacturing process\nor in cleaning part of the machinery or premises used for a manufacturing\nprocess or in any other kind of work incidental to or connected with, the manufacturing\nprocess or the subject of the manufacturing process, but does not include any\nmember of the armed forces of the union.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In simple words, worker may be defined as a person who is\nemployed directly or through any agency with or without any remuneration and\nengaged in any work connected with or incidental to manufacturing process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
CONDITIONS TO BE FULFILLED TO BECOME A WORKER<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n A person is regarded as a worker within the meaning of\nsection2 (I) of the act, if the following conditions are being fulfilled:<\/p>\n\n\n\n PERSONS HELD TO BE WORKERS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n PERSONS NOT HELD TO BE WORKERS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\nFactories act 1948<\/a><\/td> Safety provisions under factories act 1948<\/a><\/td> Workmen compensation act 1923<\/a><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
